Dont blame me if the problem seems wrong.This is how it came.

If you want trouble blame the principle or printer.

I think you are missing some brackets.............

I will make a guess and assume that the problem is

½x +½(½x + ½(½x +½(½x + ¾ )))= y

In any case, the process is the same: multiply out all of the coefficients times the contents of parentheses. In this case, it is a little easer to multiply the whole equation by 2 (but not necessary): (I changed the innermost parens to brackets)

x +(½x + ½(½x +½[½x + ¾ ]))= 2y

Then start at the innermost parenthesis and multiply it out

x +(½x + ½[½x +(1/4)x + 3/8 ])= 2y

x +(1/2)x + (1/4)x + (1/8)x + 3/16 = 2y

Then add the coefficients of x:

1/2 + 1/4 +1/8 = 7/8

(7/8)x + 3/16 = 2y

y = (7/16)x + 3/32

Even if I got the original parenthesis locations wrong, the process is still the same.
