We all know he is the prolific player in the league, and the closest thing we will ever see to Michael Jordan.

If you played with a bunch of degenerates would you pass the ball? He does exactly what Phil asks of him.

The guy has proven that he can't win without Shaq.

The reason people hate Kobe the most, is because he is not a good role model for kids. He's probably the best player in the NBA (but not in my opinion), so he should act the part. MJ never raped anybody, never called out teammates, was never about ME, me, me. MJ just did his job better than anyone else, and didn't whine like a girl when he lost.

Most importantly, he's SELFISH. Yeah, so what, you're the best player on your team. Big whoop, you still need to pass the ball. You can't beat 5 people by yourself. He'll never understand that, and that's why he'll never win a championship unless he gets another Shaq.

Kobe is great as an individual but does not play as well on the team. It's true that his teammates aren't that great but a better player (like MJ for example) would help pass the ball around anyway to give others opportunities, which would help them get better chances to score which would help the be more confident which would HELP THEM BE A BETTER TEAM. Kobe has definitely become less selfish but he still has plenty of work to do.

Also Kobe has had many off the court issues, including that cheating on his wife scandal that has dramatically hurt his image. The way Kobe's image is portrayed a lot of the time (not always) whether he really is like that or not, is that of a selfish give-me-what-i-want cause-I'm-the-best attitude. Most people I know hate that but obviously we don't know what Kobe is really like because we don't know him personally. And people don't think he gave enough credit for what Shaq did for his team and the disrespect he's shown for others in the league.

On the other hand Kobe has done a lot to repair his image and many who don't know or care about his off the court issues or other stuff really respect him. As an individual he is an excellent player with a variety of skills.

Love his game but I hate personallity. I mean he could not put his ego to the side and he broke up a dynasty. D. Wade was smart enough to realize what he had in Shaq. Then there's the whole wanting to be M.J. Get the kuf out of here!!! Then after he got busted for cheating on his wife he cried on tv like a little biotch! Man up homie! I don't understand them cats getting married at 21 years old and the have millions at the disposal as well as all the groupies you could want. I got married at 22 but I was broke. I'm just waiting to hit the lottery so I can leave her assprin. Kuf Kobe!!!!

Hate is far too strong of a word for someone they don't know. I extremely dislike him for a few reason. Mostly because he snitched out the almighty Shaq. Recently disrespecting Agent 0. And of course the whole primadonna thing. And the closest thing we will ever see to Jordan will have some MVP's under his belt. In there prime, I'd take A.I. anyday over Kobe. Mucho corazon.

Easy-- because he is a scorer, not a winner. Sure he has 3 championships (I think)-- are any of them without Shaq? No. Kobe is just not one of those elite players that can win you a championship. Examples of such players are: Shaq, MJ, BILL RUSSELL (the greatest winner to ever play the game), Larry Bird, Magic, Hakeem "The Dream", Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson.

Notice, there is no Karl Malone on my list, no Wilt Chamberlain, no LeBron (yet), no D-Wade (He's a "maybe", but I wonder if he could've won the Championship without Shaq) etc.

First off, he is the best individual player in the NBA right now. That aside, he gets on everyones nerves because it's pretty pathetic how much he tries to emulate MJ. The way he shoots, his fadeaway, the way he gives interviews, the way he chews his gum, the tounge not to mention he couldn't accept the fact that Shaq was the daddy and he was the son. He just needs to try and find himself. He almost has the other "M.J.'s" syndrome....became a star too early. He just simply come's off as a dick/wierdo.

Ability-wise maybe. Although DWade is putting up some Jordan-like numbers and is doing things that Jordan didn't do, like take his team to the second round his rookie year, to the conference finals in his second year and win a championship in his third year. (Jordan's first three years, the Bulls lost in the first round)

Mostly, it's his attitude. He's been accused of rape in a state where if found guilty he would have spent some time in jail (his lawyers settled out of court which means he probably would have lost if it had gone to trial). He has been openly critical of teammates in the past in order to fend off his criticism. He believed he could carry a team and was happy that Shaq was traded (in the next season he said in the press he was surprised at how hard it was to lead a team.). He has threatened legal action against teammates who were joking with his wife. (He got married against his parent's wishes and didn't invite them to the wedding). Do I need to go on? He is so self-absorbed and narcissistic that it is disgusting.

Dark...what the hell are you talking about? Kobe never gave Shaq credit for the titles they won? Since when does he need to? I belive they won as a team...should he personally and publicly thank Horry for those three game winning shots durring that run? I belive it was Shaq that publicy stated after he got to miami because he was'nt man enough to say it in L.A and i quote "I carried that team to the title and they cant give me an extention?" I think Kobe is the one that understands that they won as a team. He was'nt nearly the player he is today back then, and wasnt the focus of the offence. Does he need to give Jordan a call to get permision to shoot a fade away? or stick out his tounge while driving the lane? Get your story straight. And to another response about Shaq...TOM...That he cant win a title without Shaq, Shaq proved last year that he cant win witout D-wade carying his fat **** to the finsh line...lets see what he can do without "flash" in the line up this playoff. This will be his true test of his legacy since every where he's went he had a stacked team(orlando had Hill and Penny, lakers had kobe, rice, richmond, horry and the list goes on, heat have wade, payton, and others.)...can Shaq take a team to the promised land by himself being the heart and sole of the offence and defence...as Kobe is trying to do and is ridiculed for? I think not...Miami is out in the first round because Shaq cant Carry a team by himself as Kobe, Wade, James, Arenas, and even McGrady do. He's old, he's fat, he's finished. Oh...and Shaq cant win the big one without someone there to bale out his game jepordizing free throw shooting alla wade, kobe, and horry.

kobe is a great player.. but the main reason i believe he's so hated is because he never gives shaq credit for those championship years. he thinks he can do it all himself.. like score 50 points 3 days in a row. jordan always had pippen and he always gave him credit.

now kobe is on a team.. that will most likely make the playoffs but they will exit in the first round.. because he doesnt have enough talent around him.
