They're both usb 2.0 so what's the difference?

Oh wait, the mini USB is smaller. Does that make it USB 1.0?

They both are 2.0. Mini USB is used for things like portable Hard Drives, Digital Cameras, Cell phones, and other small devices. There are actually quite a few different shaped USB ends for different devices. Hope that answers your question.

I agree - it is only a smaller connector. Both standard and "mini USB" can be USB 2.0 (faster) or USB 1.1 (slower). Most devices currently produced are USB 2.0 but since they are compatible you can just plug it in and it will work - if it is USB 1.1 you will just get a slower transfer rate.

mini USB is smaller and cant transfer as much info as fast
its usually used for connecting small electronics like cell phones

my moto q cell phone/
