I went on vacation for about two weeks and when I came back, I had six baby guppies! Yippee!! LOL Okay, I have two questions:
1. How long does it take for them to get full grown? (And at what age will they start mating?) When will I be able to see what color they will be? Right now they're all pretty much clear...with one exeption..one of them is sort of blackish-blueish. Is this normal?
2. When will I be able to tell which ones are boys and which ones are girls?
Also, I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas for guppy names. I know it's hard to say without seeing them. I know they won't stay babies forever, but I thought of some cute names. I was thinking like: fry, chai, guy...stuff like that. lol And also, it was snowing on the day that we got home and saw them-my first time to ever see snow, too! AND it's almost easter, so maybe an Easter name?
One more question!! Is it my imagination, or are the fry getting larger by the hour?!? Every time I look at them they SEEM bigger! LOL

Also, what and how should I feed them?

Congrats! Your baby guppies will grow fastest in clean water and with good quality food. Be sure to keep the tank nice and clean and do plenty of water changes. Feed them twice a day with crushed up flake food so that they can get plenty to eat, but be careful not to over feed them. Uneaten food will dirty the water very quickly. You will be able to start seeing more color on them in about 4-6 weeks and be able to tell the boys from the girls in about 7-8 weeks. They can start mating at about 3 months old.

Let them grow a bit before you name them, so you can tell boys from girls :)

It'll take about 3 months for them to be full grown. You should be able to tell boys from girls around 2 months. Their colors will become more apparent over time. The blackish-blueish one is completely normal, even if none of your parent fish are that color, it may have a grandparent the same color.

I'm not sure about names. I rarely named my fish.

Yes, they grow pretty quickly.

your lucky to have 6 babies left usually they get eaten pretty quick. They will take months to grow up and get some colour. The girls are pretty boring looking, and the boys are very colourful with with beautiful tails.
