Depends on how their contract is set up. You see that sometimes players change how and when they are paid to open up options for the team. They are paid by check, but it depends on the individual player, how they are paid.

I have seen checks handed out to the players after games. That said, players can get their money in a variety of ways -- such as 16 payments after games, or spread out over the course of the season. Playoff money is on a schedule set by the league -- it's possible some guys take a pay cut for the Super Bowl, although not many. Some first-round playoff games pay out 1/16 of the salary.

Yes, there's the usual options for 401K plans and tax deductions, etc.

Fyi: Basketball players actually make more money and their contracts are automatically guranteed depending on what happens in the CBA whenever they get it done. Now under the old CBA the league minium was around 400-700k depending on if the player was a rook, vet, or on the practice squad. Its been awhile since I've looked at the numbers but the average salary is only a few mil. Only 10-20 of NFLers get those massive contracts we all hear about on sports center. For every Peyton, Ray Lewis, AP, Marshall, Polamalu, Jhari Evans there is a Troy Smith, Stephen Albright, Darry Beckwith, a Fred Mcafee guys who make peanuts in comparision to the more talented guys with bigger roles as well as stars. Not to discourage about making it as an athlete but be ready to GRIND be a trusting teammate but if it doesnt have anything to do with ball dont worry about cause in sports u cant trust anyone everyone's out for themselves. And to make it to the pro level you gotta be willing to take another man's job if not they'll take yours. Good luck dude

NFL players can get paid in a few ways. They can get paid during the season, or the whole year. Weekly, or monthly. Twice a month, once a month. It just depends the way the want it.

I sometimes doubt it is by check
I would say by transfer.
That way they cannot say they didn't get paid.
