I'm planning my vacation in USA (east coast, 2 children - 3 and 12 y.o.) in August. I have a couple of days spare probably around Washington, DC or Philadelphia. I'm looking for how to spend this time. I'll have a car there. Taking in account that we are going to Disneyworld parks in Orlando then I don't want to go to amusement parks. I also cannot allow something very expensive. I'll really appreciate any idea. Thanks in advance.

The Smithsonian museums. Children like the space museum, and the National zoo. Also all of the monuments.

Go to the Smithsonian museums in DC, they are great, free and the kids will really enjoy them as well!
