Often the solutions available to change waste and/or fuels are not profitable to incorporate into current practices and dependencies. Often it is believed that economy can not sustain the financial requirements to cross over to whatever is more efficient.

Sad but true.

Absolutely right, but not about global warming. People have selective hearing and will only hear what they want to hear.

My friends from Washington say Seattle is getting warmer all the time. This in spite of the fact that the West Coast actually had its second coldest winter on record with sudden snowstorms and hail, which is unusual since Seattle is right on the water, and doesn't get much snow. See those citrus crops' prices rise? A cold snap in Southern California last winter wiped out a lot of the market. That's not from warmer temperatures, you know.

My parents are school busdrivers, and they dealt with some very cold weather and snow storms this year.

But they are hooked into this global warming thing and cannot even stick their heads outside and check the weather and the facts themselves.

The answer is simple. MONEY.
Every "politician" receives funds from special interest groups such as corporations, other governments, religious organizations, governmental agencies, etc to influence their decisions. It is called "Lobbying".
We pay for the Lobbying payments when we buy the products or pay the fees charged for the services we use or make donations to the non-profit organizations that hire the Lobbyists.

When candidates take money from opposing points of view they have to look the other way and ignore the Truth of the facts.
For example the major oil companies, aircraft industries, automobile manufacturers and various other special interest groups oppose Global Warming because the solutions would effect their businesses. They hire Lobbyists which have access to the "politicians" to ignor the facts or block unfavorable legislation.

Pollution is a very damaging thing and the third world countries are the worst and will not conform. We should have tougher standards on pollution worldwide and be more vigilant with our mother earth, but I am still not convinced that global warming is caused by people and is not a natural phenomena.

Is that just one long sentence? Funny thing, those who can't critically think will believe the thing they are being spoon-fed. Those of us that can make up our own minds think the global warming scare is garbage. It's April, and in the south it's 31 degrees in the afternoon. I guess I'm just not feeling that "warming" effect.

I have to agree with you, however, Africa has been getting more arid since long before any industrial revolutions. That cannot be based solely on human actions. When you use examples like that, you give ammunition to the Earth-Last crowd.

Well put.

A lot of people are in denial.

It won't save them from the changes that global warming will bring.

As long as Americans have access to Wal-Mart, Cable TV, and the shopping malls, a certain segment will never care until they feel actual results of GW.
