First the right has to stop demonizing all muslims for the actions of a tiny minority. Next we need to act like peaceful people and stop warring on the innocent. Then we should build bridges of agreement on those things we can agree about, and put those ideas into action with the goal of creating stability in the ME.
Last, just accept that some few nuts will always be terrorists, and deal with them as best we can without trampling the rights of those aren't terrorists.

The west needs to stop all of its policies that hurt the people of the Middle East (and everywhere else, for that matter).

Stop support of Israel (we're the only country that does so), get out of Iraq, stop supporting all of the brutally oppressive governments we've supported for decades.

If we weren't responsible for mass murder and torture and oppression and theft, they wouldn't hate us.

Trouble is, most Americans are ignorant of the damage the US and Western Europe have done to the rest of the world.

Thus, they conclude "they hate us because they're insane, hateful, ... because of our values" and other nonsense, without the least grasp of all the legitimate complaints about our treatment of other peoples.

I had hoped that, after the end of the Cold War we could have some honest dialog in this country about how we used it to excuse our abominable behavior.

sigh. Silly me!

Instead, we've just replaced one so-called "ultimate evil" with another, and use it to be even more terroristic than before.

A better understanding of each other's cultures. For example, when people talk about the Western world they mean, US, UK, France, Germany, etc. Think about how different those countries are from each other.

When people talk about the Muslim world or the Islamic world they lump together vastly different cultures and religious sects. If you want peace learn the difference between an Arab and an Iranian or a Sunni and a Shiite.

They will never co-exist in peace. Both religions have used the sword to promote their religion, and the Muslims still believe in that philosophy. The only way that their will be peace is if the Muslims take over the world, and kill all the Christians. We must realize that their are hundreds of millions of Muslims who want to destroy the West in order to promote their religion.

The leader behind this Islamic movement today is Iran. They are the enemy of Western Civilization, and especailly the U.S.

There will never be peace between Islam, and the West ! Why ? Because I slam hates every thing the West stands for, and wants to destroy US !

We will have to either fight them to the death, or be over run. Appeasement will only make them bolder, we will have to bring them to their knees. (Remember the Prime Minister of England before Churchill ?).

Desensytize Islamic radicals or just jail them, Sunni and Sh'ia work it out, and for the west, less meddling in their affairs and more education for us on them.
