My mother and I, a few years ago, saw this moth at night above our door when we were outside in the backyard. We both had NEVER seen one like that before- nor have we since.
It was basically just black and bone-white. The bone white color decorating it's wings and I'm pretty sure the body too, actually made it look like bones, like as if the moth were a skeleton. That's the best way for me to describe it. Like the bone-white color was a skeleton of the moth (obviously it wasnt) and the black as if it were the background. It was bigger than the regular brown moths we see flying around at night. I'd love to learn more about this moth, but I don't even know what it's called, anyone know of some possibilities I can look up?

Try the Bug guide, they have a few images. It is hard to identify without a photo, but they may have one which looks like it. Just keep clicking on the Moth icon (top left in left window) to scroll through photos.
