I kept giving a homeless man money to help him out at the Grocery store. Then boom he was gone. Later I found him in front of the Dmv still with the same can he used at the store. I gave him money again I just can't see him standing there looking the way he does and people not caring, He said bless you. You know something that made me feel very good to have made some difference in his life. I have since been back to the Dmv only to find him gone again, Personally I think they are running him off, It is sad but it is true. I hope I see him again one day.

If you feed them they'll never go away! just kidding. I think that if you feel okay with what you are doing, that you are doing the right thing. I help people out every now and then, and sometimes I know that they take advantage of it, but these kind acts do stay in the persons mind. Even if the guy is using the twenty for a vice, that does not make your intention wrong. Just like a baby is innocent of its parents sins and weaknesses, you are innocent of what the needy chose to do with the help given. maybe you should slip him a copy of your favorite book and give him something to read, or some old CD that you don't want, and maybe he can sell them and at least do that little bit of work by taking the effort to interact socially and sell the stuff-if there is a used bookstore and music store in the area. Just some food for thought.

i used to, but then i watched a programme on TV where they secretly filmed this 'homeless' guy begging, and at the end of the day he went into the public toilets, changed back into his 'real' clothes and went to his 'car' in the pay and display and drove home, they followed him, he had a lovely house. so now i never know if they are really homeless or not.

right, well when I was a kid I saw homeless people all the time, wanted to help them but couldn't. Dad did helpa homeless guy that lived near a bridge by us. Him and my dad became friends, till one day he got beat up real bad cause of our neighbors trying to be neighborly...long story either way we've never seen him again.

There is a lot of that where I live, guys holding signs in street intersections. Talked to one once and he was telling me he was pulling down about 200 bucks a day. So as cruel as it s, the way I see it is if they can afford a sign, they dont need my help.

I give them food! No money because I cannot be sure that they are spending it on the stuff they need!
