While I agree with you, I feel you can't learn everything in the classroom.
I'm a 20-year Navy veteran who did IT, a karaoke host and broadcaster, a father, a chess champ, a creative writer, a music historian and a romantic. Most of these subjects are primarily not classroom material. Once you get some new applications, it's hands-on that makes you good at what you do.
So study up, but do it be prepared to face varsity action mano a mano. That's the next stage of the REAL educational experience.
