Call Shazam on your mobile (www.shazam.com) - dial the number, put your phone up to the speaker for about 30 seconds.
In a few minutes a text message should tell you what it is though it costs about 50p a call.

If you know any of the lyrics try pasting them into a search engine using speech marks before and after them. That's what I do, if they are correct then usually you get a link to a lyrics page of a song and from there you can get the title. If you don't get any results try changing the lyrics slightly to another possible interpretation.
Failing that use a search engine to find out the discography of the artist (if you know who sang it).
That's what I always do anyway.

ring a radio station and ask them for the title, I'm joking! Try the lyrics you think you know in Google, and type lrics at the end. I'm always doing it and it always works. Or write the lyrics on here and see if anyone recognises it.

go to google and try to type in the lyrics you do know. if your lyrics are correct or sorta correct, then you might be able to find the song name and the rest of the lyrics. if you know who the song is by, say it was a song by cascada, you would write "cascada lyrics." that would give you a list of songs that are sung by the artist and the lyrics to them , and you may be able to find out using them.

Well I know a site that you can type in the lyrics and find the song by that, but it doesn't show a lot of rarer songs. Here it is http://www.lyricsdomain.com/search/

do you know the name of the group/singer? Or if you heard it on the radio, log on to your radio station's website and look for a play list. Hope this helps.

Type in some of the lyrics you're pretty sure of on Google, with quotations.
