Being 17 a reality that annoys the hell out of me is having to have this or that degree for you to be taken seriosuly.
if one self educates and simply talks with people who do know about teh subject and you read about the subject which was written by people who know about the subject....I really don't see why autodidactic individuals aren't taken as serisouly as someone with a degree in whatever field. Someone can't write a book about physics and be taken serisouly if he has not spent 20 years in a university.

Another reality that annoys me is the incomprehensiveness of difference bewteen individuals. this encompasses war and even relationships.

Another reality that annoys me is that most "future movies" are about something bad such as asteroidal impact or alien invasion. Why don't they make movies depicting utopic ways of living? Wouldn't those give ideas to scientists and architects? Star Trek gives ideas to real scientists. Imagine movies about utopic ways of living!

The reality that bugs me the most is that after all these centuries, countless wars, and results showing the futility of those wars...people STILL kill each other over stupid religion.

A person can be ticked off at any age, 17 yr olds do not have a monopoly. My dear, if you would have used spell check you would not have so many mistakes. A boss looks for accuracy. Several utopic as you call it, movies have been made and people didn't give them the Oscar. What bothers me most is why are you so vehemently against an education and second why you don't think writer's should write about a future that can very well happen. I am a mother, a grandmother and a woman. My daughters were taught everything I felt they needed to know to live in this society without a man. They both have degrees. One worked for the FBI for 10 yrs. The other is about to get her degree. I would not want someone to hand me a diploma if I had not deserved it. Another thing to get ticked off about is the bird flu is airborne-it is contagious and will arrive on the West coast soon, it will then travel East leaving sick and dying people everywhere. This isn't a movie but I wish it was.

What really annoys me is that beauty is trumped by knowledge. That movie stars are held to a higher esteem than the scholar that has contributed something to society. That tax dollars are given to people with stupid ideas than ones that could help develop better programs. That rap singers can put out an inane song, repeating the same lyrics over and over again, and make millions. Don't get me wrong, I like some rap music, but there is alot out there that absolutely makes no sense.

There is a lot of things that annoy me about this world we live in. Too many to mention but I will give you some of my favorites.
Countries that consistently hate each other and can never find a peaceful solution. People who live in these countries who live to kill the other person and peace is not even in their vocabulary.
Our country, the USA having to bring peace to these thick headed people and losing our own because of it. Expecting the USA to help them or police them and the majority of the world hating us because of it.

The media who is the cause of stirring up the pot for everything they call a crisis in the world.

The USA spending money on countries abroad to help them and we have people walking the streets on a daily basis, with no home, no future and sometimes nothing to eat.
Our country having so many of its own problems and our government does little to make an impact.

People in our country who don't own up to taking responsibility for their own actions and who will always blame authority like the government and the police.

Drivers who use cell phones and don't give a hoot that they are driving 70 miles an hour, all over the crowded three lane hwy.

Adults who have kids and don't take the responsibility to raise them and wonder why they get arrested or shot.
Kids who go to high school and especially college that wear extra baggy pants to their knees and try to look ghetto to wearing flip flops to class.

The self centered mindset of many people who only care about themselves and could careless of their fellowman.
This is called the dumming of society. I wish I could say it will get better but I am not confident.

About the degree, that's the power-knowledge nexus that unfortunately we can do little about. Power controls knowledge, and knowledge reinforces power. But you see, one also needs standards. Would you go to an autodidactic medical doctor? I wouldn't...

The reality that annoys me most in today's world is that I'm not a 17 year old utopian girl anymore... You made me miss that so much. I'm getting bitterer and less enthusiastic with age. I'm also starting to cope with pain, suffering and injustice as realistic realities... how sad for me ....

A degree says that you have the ability to complete something. You stayed in a course of study and finished. How do I know you get that without either experience or a degree of some sort.

The reality that annoys me the most is that we are the wealthiest country and have an abundance of everything but yet people struggle to just meet the basic needs of survival.

I think you're a smart kid. Something that annoys me is the necessity of the media to impose celebrities and their way of living as one of the most important aspects of society and also the way the establish an unrealistic and unreachable (for most) pattern of female beauty.

you're 17, relax and take a chill pill. wait till you're in your late 20's or 30's to worry about realities in the world. your young enjoy life and stop watchin the news and stuff like that.
