know that a person can be separate from their career choice, but I am curious what jobs (if any) would make you disrespect or think less of a person for having a particular job. What jobs are low and trashy in your opinion?

All jobs are important. If we did not have chamber maids at a hotel how would your room get clean? If we did not have people who worked in a grocery store, how would we buy food? Yes some jobs are more prestigious then others but all are important.

I find this to be a very good question and I thank you for asking it. What I get from being a 'contributor' to YA is not an orange flag saying I have been awarded anything, as that I have not received. While it would be nice, it is not my motivation. My motivation is Three-fold. First, I find that I really do enjoy being helpful. I have enjoyed such all my life. I have found in my own town that I have been given so much by the community, that I feel it is my duty to give some back. The same is true with the Internet. I have received so much pleasure, knowledge and entertainment from the Internet, that I feel it is my duty to give just a little bit back. I find that YA is the easiest and best place for me to do exactly this. Secondly, I must admit to using YA to ask questions, that I just cannot find the answer anywhere else. Maybe I was looking for the wrong thing and a member here has set me on the right track, or maybe I was just not searching and using the right words. A good example of this might be when I may know a subject of a song from the 80's, but not the words or the singer. Here, I find enough help to set me on the right track to get the right answers. Finally, I learned long ago, when I use to teach tax firms how to do taxes, and candidates for the Enrolled Agent examination how to pass such, that every time I taught a course, I learned more than the student. The same holds true for this wonderful community of YA. When I am able to answer a question, I, through research, have found that I learn more about the subject than I can impart. I find that education is it's own reward, and there is no better place than YA to receive such an education. I hope this helps explain my feelings and reasons for being part of the YA community.

Prostitution. The only thing. Anything else is a job. (My opinion of course...I just don't see doing that as a job when you can do demeaning jobs without taking your clothes off). Although there are some who like it...so who am I to judge. I guess if you like what you're doing, it's not illegal and doesn't hurt anyone, then any job is a good job. (Garbage collectors make more money than a Teacher...LOL...had to add that).

If they're working an honest (and legal) job and supporting themselves then they have nothing to be ashamed of.
Those who make a "career" of living off goverment entitlements like welfare are the ones I look down on.

Well, the obvious ones like prostitutes and strippers (both male and female) come to mind first. The rest of the professions I'd have to think about.

All jobs are dignified, except prostitution and escort (male and female). But the ones who gets my disrespect is smb. who has no will to move his a** and find a job. Anything will do, as long as he earns some money and he doesn't expect others to give him financial support.

Anesthesiologists who assist in executions. I can't have any respect for someone who went to school to try to help people who then turns around and kills them. It goes against everything that made them want to be medical professionals in the first place. I can't resepct someone who gives up on their core values.
