Ladies How Important is it for a woman to take a Iron supplement???

don't take iron supplements but wanted to know if you do and do u feel that woman should take one being that they lose a lot of blood in there life time..

The following are reasons to take an Iron supplement. If you don't fall into any of these catagories, then you don't need to take an Iron supplement.

You don't eat well
You're a vegetarian
You consume less than 1,200 calories a day
You have a medical condition that affects how your body absorbs, uses or excretes nutrients
You're a postmenopausal woman
You're a woman who has heavy menstrual bleeding
You're pregnant or trying to become pregnant
You smoke
You drink excessively

If you're generally healthy and eat a wide variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes and lean meats, you don't likely need dietary supplements.

you dont need to take iron supplements just because you think that women loose alot of blood in their lifetimes. Your body makes more iron. If you have a history of low iron or have a poor dietary intake of it then you should talk with your doctor about it.

well it depends on what the blood cell count is,,, if its pretty low then take the iron supplement. failure to do so would make the white cell count higher making it more dangerous for you since this could cause anemia... and furthermore... leukemia.. which is pretty dangerous

its important b/c having a period once a month gets rid of a lot of iron, but if u havent had ur period yet then u dont have 2 worry (yet)
