Many people choose to adopt internationally because it is "safer" in their opinion. Here in the states, there is the fear that a birthparent will change their mind after the baby is born. Since adoption fees are non-refundable, if a birthparent changes their mind, you lose the money that you've invested thus far and have to start the entire process over. The other fear is that the biological parents will try to find the child after the placement. By adopting internationally, you remove those fears.
The US Government does not make it easy to adopt US children, unless they are in the foster care program. I believe as an adoptive parent, more people would adopt from the US if there were more laws protecting the adoptive parents to help eliminate the fears that we face.

When you have millions of dollars and everyone knows who you are you can get away with just about anything. Like taking husbands away and going anywhere in the world and saying oh look honey isn't he cute,I want that one. Adoptson is a very good thing and it helps bring needy kids to good and loving parents who other wise couldn't have children of their own but when it becomes a fashion statement something is wrong some where.

A) Because no one in their right mind would give Bradgellina a baby. Think back, think hard. No way.
B) Because it takes years to get a baby here. Plus they look into your history etc.
C) Because you look chic and hip and worldly, out buying...I mean adopting, kids from other countries.

i know that there are people starving all around the world and its good that people are helping everyone but why not look in their own country?
it isnt good when our society is being prejudiced to his or her own people.
