Circumference of a circle fomula

C =2 π r

C / 2π = 2 π r / 2 π

C / 2π = r . . .Use this formula

12 / 2 π = r

12 / 2(3.141592654) = r

12 / 6.283185307 = r

1.909859317 = r

To find the diameter multiply the the radius by 2

1.909859315 x 2 =

3.819718634

3.8 inches rounded to one decimal place

- - - - - - - -s-

Pi (π) is a number defined as C (circumference) divided by d (diameter).

π = C/d

If you want to find the diameter you need to rearrange the equation into:

dπ = C
d = C/π

Plug the numbers into a calculator and voila!

d = (12in)/(3.14159...)
d = 3.81972... inches

The equation is diameter x pi= circumference. which is 2.5 x 3.14 = 7.85 since 5 is bigger or equal to 5 it rounds up to 1.9 Hope I helped!!!!!!!!!

circumference=diameter times pi

c=d(pi)
c/pi=d
12/3.141592=d
I get about 3.8, rounded to the nearest tenth
