Put some flour over it and keep pressure on, avoid stress as this will raise the blood pressure, it should stop soon. If it continues phone your emergency vet. In the future have a stypic pencil to hand in case you nick the quick. Well done for attempting this, I book my pets in for the vet to do it.

I have 2 rabbits and the same thing has happened to me. My rabbits claws were bleeding steady for a good 15 minutes. We were doing everything possible to try to stop it. The stuff from the pet store works, but takes a little while to take effect.

Always have styptic powder on hand when trimming any pet's claws. It will stop bleeding right away. It's probably available at your pet store. For now, use pressure with a cloth over the nail and try to keep rabbit calm and quiet.

It should be alright, dont worry. I used to have a guinea pig, and I know how hard it can be. Take her to the vet if it doesnt stop though, and try to be more careful in the future. I would recommend getting your rabbits claws clipped by a vet.

bind the paw 2 stem the bleed with a bandage, but leave on 4 no longer than 3 hours.
u don't want 2 cut off the blood supply, completely.
u don't need 2 put anything on it, just keep an eye on her 4 a couple of days.

whats up. Clipping your rabbit's claws could be a complicated situation. you may harm your bunny or decrease them too short. consequently, I recommend you circulate to a vet and ask them to instruct you what to do first. I in basic terms get my vet to clip my rabbit's claws as she does it loose! maximum vets do it loose, in recent times. desire I helped you out - solid success.

the best thing to do is just make sure his/her cage is clean to help stop infection and just let the rabbit clean it and it will clot itself and be fine. my rabbit is white so she is easy to clip but last summer when i clipped her she had a hissy fit and kicked me resulting in her ripping her whole nail out! not very nice it made me cry, but she is fine now and about 7 yaer old so i must be doing something right hey!! just keep an eye on her/him. good luck hun!!

Hold some pressure on it for a while by pressing with cotton wool or a cotton bud (q-tip) - it will stop! Black claws are always difficult!

they have a lot of information on that type of thing. I think you would find the information at Bunny emergancy kit on the home page of that site. But just look around the site and see because I'm not so sure.
