I'm thinking of getting a laptop so when i travel i can use it and do away w/ my desktop... some say don't do it, i'd regret it b/c of short battery life, and for me... typing in Spanish, writing accents is a problem on laptops. What would you do? and WHY?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A105 series laptop and I love it.. sure, my battery power is a bit limited, since I have the standard battery, but, you can buy batteries that are more powerful, and, you can also use the AC adapter to save your battery..
My Toshie is compact, light, and easy to use.. I can put it in my briefcase, or in a bookbag and carry it anywhere I go.. if I try to do that with my desktop, I knock people down, and they don't appreciate that, plus, I wind up with a hernia..
GET A LAPTOP.. make sure though, that it has wifi capabilities, as well as ethernet and modem, like my Toshie does, and make sure you get a barrrrrre minimum of 512 mb of ram, 1gb is better..
Good luck

buy yourself a laptop and keep the desktop so that you can set up a wireless connection so that you can be able to be mobile at home.

i think it's better to take the laptop, and its lifetime is more than the desktop.
