She violated the Logan Act, a felony, I bet Bush plays nice and doesn't have her arrested like I would.

No, he should let her run up a laundry list of charges so the sentence is longer.

I'm amazed at the amount of stupid rants to this post, what is happening to our democracy? Is this what passes for an informed electorate?

Clearly the Bush foreign policy is a failure, it makes sense for our country to have a Plan B which is being felt out by the Dems. Even the Republicans had Congressmen in Syria the week before; were they on vacation?

Sure Assad is a lying murderer, just as Ahmadinejad. But guess what folks? They control their country! Are we going to try to work with them somehow, or pursue the Cuba approach of isolation? Look how well that worked on a country 90 miles from Florida.

We need some "real politics" and we aren't getting from Bush/Cheney. Time to change the driver!

It could go both ways. Pelosi could have Bush arrested under the Logan act.

Who is the United States to give this mystery authorization? It would require a vote in Congress to decide if the decider was in violation of the Logan act. And the same for Pelosi.

Who in today's politics would win a vote in the House of Representatives.

Go go Go Logan Go

ACTUALLY, IT IS DENNIS HASTERT WHO IS THE FELON...

At the same time Congress was attaching human rights conditions to U.S. security assistance programs and negotiating a formal end-use monitoring agreement with the Colombian defense ministry, other lawmakers were secretly assuring Colombian officials that they felt such restrictions were unwarranted, and would work to either remove the conditions or limit their effectiveness.
One example of this was a congressional delegation led by Rep. Dennis Hastert (R-IL) which met with Colombian military officials, promising to “remove conditions on assistance” and complaining about “leftist-dominated” U.S. congresses of years past that “used human rights as an excuse to aid the left in other countries.” Hastert said he would to correct this situation and expedite aid to countries allied in the war on drugs and also encouraged Colombian military officials to “bypass the U.S. executive branch and communicate directly with Congress.”

She is not a private citizen, she is not a civilian, she is a member of the government, therefore no crime was commited. Case closed.

Besides, you'd have to prosecute the republicans that preceded her by a few days, and the one that accompanied her.

Speaker of the House makes her a head of state and public figure...not a private citizen in regards to the Logan Act. But I bet you would love to arrest anyone who challenges your ideas wouldn't you? You people are like young children with a box of matches just waiting to burn down the house.

She didn't negotiate any thing with anyone. Something tells me you are just regurgitating something rush said and have no idea what the Logan Act actually says.

As much as I don't agree with what she did...arresting her wouldn't go well for the country.

Bush needs to replace the US Attorney in Washington DC first. The current one says he will only file charges when a crime has been committed.

I'd like to see that happen, because it would be the end of Bush, Gonzales, Rove. The Republican party would truly be the fascist party. It would be claiming the power of a dictator

To Shrink, do you think of us as comparable to some underground group, like AK wielding maniacs in Iraq, who have no right to take part in the governing process? You cannot take the "American" out of me, even though you yourself are trying to change the meaning of it, America is a place created where every person can have a voice...do you want to be able to legally away my voice? If so you yourself have no idea what America is about.
