I'm confused about how energy and matter were created in the first place. Is there any evidence regarding this? Thanks!

You should be confused. We indeed have no evidence for where the energy and matter came from in the first place. We have no scientific proof that "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." But neither do we have any means to disprove it.

There is no "evidence", but some speculation that the "Big Bang" was just energy breaking through a massive "black hole" collapsing in some other universe.

In less then a10^-32 of a second, the Big Bang was started. You should do more professional research to truly understand the formation of the universe.
