I say it all the time... Like "oh I'm sorry" Really bad habit. But a real I'm sorry, sometime this week I'm sure.

I work in a nursing home. A guy at work is really confused and new to the facility. He kept telling me that I was the only one helping him (sad but true actually) and that he had no idea what he should be doing and that he tried to talk to other residents and they rudely ignored him. I just said "I'm sorry hun, the ladies you tried to talk to have had strokes and can't talk that well, but they are very nice." Then I asked him if he'd like to sit in his room and watch tv to get away from the craziness and then I sat with him and talked until he was ok. I checked up on him periodically through the night and it really helped to calm him down knowing that I was right around the corner if he needed me.

This morning when I accidentally stepped on my grandsons toy and broke it.. "Sorry" by the way, did not do it. I had to go to the toy store and buy him a bigger toy. The rationale for that was what he said to my daughter: "Grandpa is old and can't see too well. I need something bigger".

I apologized to my boss yesterday because I forgot to call him about something. It was stupid - I just got distracted and it slipped my mind.
