Windows CANNOT detect spyware. The red icon that you are seeing IS the spyware infection itself. It is trying to goad and persuade you to purchase a useless, rogue anti-spyware program. DO NOT buy it. It is a scam!

The "Your computer is infected" warning is a scam. It is usually caused by the Smitfraud infection. Almost all "general purpose, all-in one" spyware and virus removal programs cannot remove it.

To remove go here, download the free, specialized tool called SmitFraudFix v2.126 and follow the procedure.

And here is another removal tool and procedure to remove Smitfraud:

Good luck.

I'd recommend getting some anti-spyware tools if you do not already have them. Heres my recommendations

1) Goto free.grisoft.com

2) Download both the free anti-virus and anti-spyware programs

3) Install programs, update them and run a full system scan with each

This should find any virus or spyware on your computer and allow you to remove them. This should solve your problem! Also sometimes 1 spyware program will miss things another might catch, because of this I also recommend getting the free SpywareTerminator software from spywareterminator.com it is also a good program to have and will work side by side with AVG antivirus and AVG antispyware. Good luck!

Take the message that you are getting about the spyware, then in quotation marks, type it in to a search engine. This should bring up the page that is the spyware program that is telling you that you have spyware. You should find instructions on how to delete it.

my family has had this problem before but it was alot worse. there are alot of anti spyware software out there but i reccomend that you take it to your local computer place (best buy,staples,etc...) and ask them if they can fix it for ya. also i wouldent download any thing off the internet beacuse that could just make it worse.

I recently had a virus and the sucker wouldn't let me go on the internet and it was just a mess. So I had my computer cleaned or rebooted whatever ya wanna call it and everythings back to normal. Just make sure you save the files and stuff you wanna save on some sort of disk before you do so
