They are franchised. I searched their website and tried to find the info for you but no luck. However here is a phone number to one of the first stores in Columbus Georgia. You can call them and I'm sure they will give the info for customer service purposes. 706-323-8132
The Burger King I work for is franchised by WESFAM Inc. in north Alabama I don't know if they own any outside Alabama.

They are a franchise. You would have to find out from each individual burger king who owns which store. There is a parent company and people buy the franchise from the parent company.
