It is for propagation of species .The most intelligent nature has devised a wonderful strategy in this respect .the pulp in any fruit is not really for the propagation of the specie .But the pulp is useful for living beings and many being sustain on them .They are also tasty so that all species that are herbivore might like them .The herbivore eat the pub and throw the seeds out and scatter them away from the mother plant .Thus the seeds get scattered in new soil and grow . Evey fruit contains too many seeds .As all the seeds might not scattered in a condition conducive to germination , the fruit contains too many seeds so hat at least a few of them would remain in good condition for growth. The animals and men who ea the fruit might crush most of the seeds also .So nature has devised a method of packing every fruit with too many seeds .

It's a survival for the next generation thing. Some fruits, like an apple or strawberry, can have several seeds because the seeds can be eaten with the fruit. With a higher seed count, the chances of some of the seeds making it into the ground, rather than being digested, increase.
Then there are fruits like peaches or plums. The seeds in those are, for the most part, inedible, so there's a more likely chance that the seed will find the ground and grow without the aid of higher numbers.

It's an adaptation so they reproduce in greater rates. That's why there aren't many fruits with one small seed within a huge wad of flesh... more small seeds or one big seed (pit) enhance the survival and reproduction rate of a plant.

Many seeds are more likely to have "survivors" that find a nice patch of soil, dig down, and grow a new plant.

There are no documented cases of a healthy human dying from total sleep deprivation (excluding accidents), aside from those suffering from fatal familial insomnia. In carefully monitored experiments, several normal research subjects stayed awake for 10 days. While they all experienced cognitive deficits in memory, concentration, etc., none of them experienced serious medical, neurological, physiological or psychiatric problems .[10]. Total sleep deprivation in rats leads to death in around 28 days. Death occurs later[citation needed] if only REM sleep is eliminated. In humans, extended sleep deprivation causes "microsleep" sessions to develop. A person who has fatal familial insomnia may die after several months with no sleep at all; people without this condition may experience dementia or develop permanent personality changes within the first few weeks."
