He could change it a lot if he kept his mouth shut, All of the greenhouse gas would not escape.

I don't think Al Gore could change a light bulb. He would hire an electrician to drive over and change it for him.

Since 1900 the world has warmed up by 1/2 degree. This is the normal increase expected.

There is global warming on Mars. I don't think it has anything to do with CO2 on earth. Perhaps it has something to do with higher radiation levels from the sun!

Global warming (the part that is being caused by our activities - not the natural part of it) is something that we all have to help change together.
Maybe Al can help a little. Of course, being a celebrity doesn't make him an expert on the issue, but at least he's using his popular status to inform and educate people. And there is a lot to inform and educate people about on this issue - there is an incredible amount of misinformation out there about global warming...

For a "top contributer" I'm surprised at the ignorance displayed by John S. There is no global warming on Mars, and even if there were that would have no bearing on what is going on here on Earth. On Mars, the temperature gets up to 0 degrees C during the day and -60 C at night (at the equator). The atmosphere of Mars, though mostly CO2, is way too thin to cause significant greenhouse warming (although there is evidence of a warming climate in Mars's past).

Al Gore is a very smart and well educated man (which is more than most of the folks on Yahoo can say!) and his film has had a significant impact in bringing Global Climate Change to the attention of many people. It has been shown to millions of school children and will be shown to an estimated 20 million kids this month as part of the annual Earth Day activities.

This is just terrific, because it is scientifically accurate, thoughtful and timely.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gore got the Nobel prize at some point as a result of his efforts to bring Climate change awareness to the people of the developed nations.

Al Gore can do nothing to change global warming. He is only a mere mortal!

Seriously though, Al Gore wants a legacy. He didn't get to be president, so he's trying to find some other way to be remembered. Just because his cause is popular, doesn't mean it's correct!

He made his "documentary" with hand picked scientists, who support only his beliefs, because his target audience, unfortunately, won't question some thing presented to them as scientific fact. Most people won't take the time to look at the huge amount of evidence that contradicts the films experts.

Those like Al Gore, who believe they know what's best for you, don't want you to think for yourself. They want you to be good little sheep.

Gore and others like him want you and I to make drastic and expensive changes to our lives, but are unwilling to join us in those sacrifices.

Check out the news article below.

To summarize:

1.) He owns 2 large homes, and although he's had the opportunity to power them with clean renewable wind energy, at a more expensive cost to him, he just hasn't gotten around to making the switch! Interestingly enough, the Bush administration signed up to use green energy for some Federal office buildings!

2.)He still flies around in private jets, rather than pack in coach with the rest of us.

3.) He chose to put hundreds of thousands of dollars, of his families money, in Occidental (Oxy) Petroleum, yes and OIL company. And this oil company has been mired in controversy over drilling in ecologically sensitive areas.

4.) His home in Carthage sits on a zinc mine that he receives $20,000 a year from Pasminco Zinc, the company mining it, and they have been sited several times for polluting the the nearby Caney Fork River.

As you can see he seems to put money and prestige over the environment.

I just wanted to add that I never said that Gore isn't "Well Educated," and just because I and many others, didn't go to and Ivy league school doesn't mean that I'm not well educated as well! He's made some really bone-head statements in the past, but like any other politician who speaks a lot, their bond to mess up at least once or twice.

Than being said, I don't see how English degree and a law degree makes him and expert in the earth sciences. And just can't get behind him, and others like him, who continue to be hypocrites and not changing their lives as they want us to do so.

And yuppie so he's got a captive, impressionable, audience! See he's really smart. Teach them while their young not to question anything!

Al Gore, brain-washing the new generation of sheep!

It's funny that people like Al Gore, John Travolta, and other celebrities preach to us "normal" people about global warming, yet they are some of the biggest hypocrites of all.

Al Gore uses massive energy with his three mansions in Tennessee, and John Travolta owns five jet airplanes. Also, many other celebs throughout Hollywood drive massive SUV's, but tell us "normal" people not to drive them.

I'm sick of all the hypocrisy, and of this stupid panic situation surrounding this scam called global warming.
