how to mix powdered fertalizer in hose end sprayer?

I have an Ortho hose end sprayer, Dial n Spray. I bought Miraclo-Gro water soluble plant food packets. The Ortho sprayer jar says fill 1/4 to 1/2 full (8 to 16 oz). The Miraclo-Gro packet says use the whole packet, 32 oz? Can I use Miracle-Gro in my Ortho sprayer and how much do I mix, dilute? I am just trying to fertalize some flowering shrubs.

Use the recommendations of the fertilizer itself... Ortho hose in spray is recommending us use 1/2 the amount as the Miracle Gro instuctions. So you have enough fertilizer to fill the hose in sprayer twice...Divide the fertilizer in half 16 oz. and that will cover up to a certain square ft for the garden, then the second time. If Miracle Gro is recommending to use all of their product at once in the garden, you just have to mix it up twice to achieve the goal they intend for their fertilizer.
