You are right, never thought about it that way.

Yes and No. I think there is alot of psychology involved in it. In real life we find ourselves being more reserved, acting in the way the situation calls for, and to a point being self conscious of others opinions on the way we look, sound, act, etc. Here on the Internet we do not have to be anything other than who we are or who we choose to be lol. It just opens us up I think.

That's why I'm meeting people from here. I've met two of them so far. And if I see them on the street I'll give them a big hug. Because neither of them live near me. One in Canada and the other near San Diego. And more to visit this summer.

Maybe we should have badges to wear with Q&A on them then we could speak to each other, we don't have to tell the other person what name we use unless we want to and that would add to the intrigue when we are on here we would be wondering who is who and do we know them.
If anyone doesn't recognise the badge and asks what it is we could say it's a secret society like the Masons and we can't speak about it,sounds like fun to me.

answering these questions, or almost anything done on the internet is very impersonal
we don't have to see the other person, make eye contact, show any emotion
therefore, it's easier to "help" people here on Yahoo Answers

Never thought about that. I guess we all know who we are here. On the street people are preoccupied with their own schedule they probably don't even think to say hi.

It' pretty cool when you think about it. And why would'nt you make eye contact and say "Hello"? You must not live in the south:)

Yes, you are right. In fact, chances are that if we ever meet in real life. We are not going to like what we see. Sad but true :)
