what is the background knowledge that you need to create movies that have international settings and different locations? How do you communicate with people to set up this international settings?

How do you contact people who will work in your movies? When casting a movie, how do you deside on what actor or actress you want in the movie? Do you call and ask about the dates available or email the needed information?

When problems arise during the making of a movie how do you over come disputes and appease the actors if there are problems? How do you keep communication open with everyone to keep everything running smoothly by email, breakfast chats or phone calls?
