I really hate myself for past actions and how much I have hurt my daughter, ex-husband and mother-in-law. I don't know how to resolve these feelings.

I tried taking the Landmark Forum, but it did not help. I found it too confrontational, brainwashing and cultish.

How can I learn to accept myself even though I have not lived up to my responsibilities as a mother?

try praying the serenity prayer, "God, help me to accept the things that I can't change....give me courage to change the things I can....and wisdom to know the difference."

i would suggest praying this (if meditating on God gives you peace) each time negative thoughts come back

go to your family and ask for their forgiveness for past actions

you can't change the past but it is still within your power to change the future =)

Stay away from most people... Their opinions are worth sh*it and are often just given to ameliorate themselves by proxy and by your example.

People can change when they have the desire to... Most people unfortunately... never allow them the process, compassion, time or space they need to do so.

It is more fun for most people to torment others rather than to understand them in their weakness...

Not really... but you know what I mean.

I have found that consistently in my life... People would honestly rather harm me than to ever try and understand me.
It is rather painful, and has often caused more damage than I can manage to bare and more than they had initially hoped for in the process.

I understand where you are and I wish you peace and a place of solace, honesty and someone who loves you... no matter what. Everyone deserves that. I hope you find it.
