It depends on the situation, place, who you fought. If you are seen as the aggressor than yes. Assault is against the law. This isnt elementary school where you can fight on the playground and nothing happens to you. In college you are suppose to be an adult and solve problems the adult way....with communication. Now if you are just defending yourself than probably not... if you have witnesses. Also make sure you dont get into a fight with a kid whose parents have money or who is important. If jimmy's daddy gives a lot of money to the school, all that jimmy's daddy has to do is complain.... and you're gone. Also if you get in a fight in class or in the dorms, you'll probably get kicked out.
Basically, you are in college now.... act like it! You are suppose to be getting an education. Act like you are educated and solve problems with some sense. Basically, if I was a professor or someone important at college and I found out you were fighting.... I'd get rid of you.

Calm down pony boy, yes, you can get suspended or even kicked off campus resulting in getting kicked out of school if it was serious enough. Time to put on your big boy pants and play by the rules. We're not on the playground anymore.

My guess is that it would depend on the type and severity of the situation. As an RA, i can tell you that there would be sever penalties for anyone who started a fight or was even in one that did not call for self defense as we would not condone someone staying on campus that posed a threat to the rest of the residents.

It depends on their plocies. Im pretty sure they have a handbook. Evrey college is different. they might kick you out or put you on some type of probation or do nothing at all.

85 % yes... ANY college will have policies of violence on campus... you violate the policy, the school should be free to remove you.
I think the remaining 15% would be for suspension or probation... based on prior behavior and situation.
I just don't see why any school should tolerate behavior like that.
