Lay it now on a well prepared bed, you do not need to do too much, rake, level, walk, level again until the ground is nice and flat place some sort of feed down on the surface then lay turf on, water in well, Do not allow anyone to walk on it for a few weeks to ensure it is not damaged, water every over night.
Good luck.

Not a good idea when the ground is frozen or it's 110 degrees and 5% humidity. Not a problem for you right now.
Actually fall is idea as the ground is warm and the air temps are cool, but who wants to wait that long?! Now is fine up until really hot, dry weather (if that occurs in your area).
You need to incorporate a starter fertilizer in the soil before you put down the sod. Also roots need oxygen, so a dense compacted soil won't work. Ideally rototill the area, incorporate organic matter if your soils are low in that as well as the starter fertilizer. Most of the big name brands make one.
Ideally water before you lay the sod so the soil isn't bone dry...like a day or two before. Lay the sod, butt the edges close together so you don't end up with dry edges. Rent a roller and fill it 1/3 full with water and roll the sod. This pushes it down onto the soil. Then water enough so the subsoil is moist and the roots rush into the new moist, fluffy, nutrient rich soil below.

If your local turf farm can cut it you can lay it! Make sure you have a granular fert 10-10-10 with minerals incorporated into the soil before operation. Water only when there is no chance of a freeze. Good Luck.

aspect and rake the floor. i could spread an inch or 2 of topsoil and loosely aspect out with a rake. Lay your turf making certain that they have a fantastic bond. Use a shovel to tamp turf and water it in. be sure that's properly waterd till it starts to take. avert walking on it for a week or 2.
