you know, it is not that you would walk into oncoming traffic, but if a car swerved and hit you, it is not such an awful idea.

There is a difference between not wanting to live anymore and wanting to die. Not wanting to live, like you want to just be able to hit the pause button on your life, and let everything just keep going on as usual. You just get to be a fly on the wall and watch it all go by. It's no longer your responsibility, but you can still see what's going on, and when you want to, you can jump back in and interact, but then again, when you wish to, you can fly back to the observation deck. That is a normal way to feel when you're overwhelmed with despair. But, deliberaltely waling into oncoming traffic, well, you may think it's just tio end your life - but you'll be putting all the drivers and their passengers in jeopardy. And all the authorities will have to come and investigate, and paramedics will have to come and assist the wounded, they will get hurt, maybe killed, property will be dmamged, lives will be devastated, hospital visits and bills.
That's an awfully selfish act, isn't it. It will cause a lot more trouble than taking a moment to collect your thoughts, and make a plan to make yourself well. We all feel poorly about ourselves at times. Everyone fails. The only way to succeed is to keep trying. I know it sounds so cliche, but it's true! Those that are number one don't get there without hard work and perseverance. Find people to talk to, books and songs to uplift your spirit. I don't even mean religion, there are many options for you to feel better without pressure. Please consider this advice and take it. You won't just hurt yourself, you'll hurt many innocent people. Good luck to you!

It's worse, because it means you've sunk even deeper into despair than someone who actively seeks death. You don't have the heart even to care anymore. Get help immediately.
