It kind of already was...its called the Five Heartbeats, it seems a little like dreamgirls..its really good..Robert Townsend stars in it...He and Keenan Ivory Wayans wrote and directed it..

It's been done already about 15 or 16 years ago. It was called "The Five Heartbeats." Based on a group called the Dells.

it depends. dreamgirls was based on an actual group, and if there was a boy group, then i say go ahead. but if not, i would say that it would probably be a waste of time and money
