Here are the possibilities:
Shut off your computer. Make sure all your cables are tight. Your cable from the video card to the monitor, and the monitor power cable.
Your video card (if not onboard video) might be loose.
If is not one of these, try borrowing somebody else's monitor and see if it still happens. If it is better, then it is time to get yourself a new monitor.

Hiya
I've got exactly the same problem with my new 19" TFT monitor that I bought at Christmas
Mine is still under warranty though, so I'm having it replaced after Easter
How old is yours and could it still be covered?
Mine's an Octigen and it's covered for 3 years
Certainly know what you mean about the tired eyes, just glad I won't have to suffer for too much longer
Sounds like you need to get a replacement too
Good luck - and here's to bright eyes and less headaches!!

I used to have the same sort of problem, it was only when the computer started up, and it was on an old bulky monitor. It usually sorted its self out, and if it didn't I used to press the degauss button on the screen which would get rid of the yellow and really reset the colours

Check the cable that connects the monitor to the computer. Take it off and re-attach it. sometimes that is the cause of the problem. If it still does it, it could be that the monitor has lost one of it's color guns. Cheapest and best way to cure that is to replace the monitor with a new one.

i presume you are using a c.r.t monitor(thats one of the larger old type monitors)
if you are go to the o.s.m(on-screen menu)and look for a option to "demagnetize",when you find it press it to demagnetize and the screen will sort of jump and then return to normal
this should return your monitor to its usual colours
the reason for your screen colours going wrong this morning is due to the way c.r.t monitors are designed, the name c.r.t stands for cathod ray tubes, and after a few months these can build up a lot of magnetism which can create odd colours in the display
any time this happens run the "demagnetize" option "from the menu on the monitor
hope this helps
good luck

Mine like that was a dry solder joint - temporary solution give it a good smack - clap both hands on the sides. Do not take the covers off to look for it - dangerous high voltage. You might get a replacement CRT display from your local recycling centre for a few bob. There were quite a few there when I dumped my last one (it was working).

Check the simple stuff first, make sure that the cable to the monitor and PC has not come loose, this can sometimes cause colour inbalance.
