According to Planned Parenthood, of 100 women who use the pill, only eight will become pregnant during the first year of typical use. Fewer than one will become pregnant with perfect use.
Of 100 women whose partners use condoms, about 15 will become pregnant during the first year of typical use. Only two women will become pregnant with perfect use.
If you are ONLY concerned with pregnancy, taking the pill is actually MORE effective then using condoms. However, the pill does NOT protect against STDs.
I have personally been on the pill for 6 years now. My fiance and I never use condoms and so far we don't have any kids yet! :o)

If you are in a monogamous relationship and are sure that neither of you have an STD (that means get tested), you can go without the condoms for sex if you are on the pill. However, there is still a very slim chance of getting pregnant on the pill, so a condom for extra protection is not a bad idea if a baby is out of the question for you at this time.

contraception even as used properly is ninety 8% effective. With anybody new continuously ask them to get examined for STD's and locate out their sexual heritage (you do an similar too). i could say use the condoms in simple terms through the indisputable fact that's more advantageous protection that can mean that the effective % can go as a lot as ninety 9%. i'm no longer likely to lie to you and say that there are not human beings accessible who in simple terms use contraception and under no circumstances a condom even as they are in a courting. yet you want to recollect that issues do ensue, she will be able to continuously decrease to rubble her agenda for taking the pills or maybe worse she will be able to cheat on you and get something from the different individual. both way, in case you're both new to this proceed making use of the condom till you're both totally smooth. Then in case you're questioning about no longer making use of the condom cheack with a wellbeing care professional to get more advantageous precise information.

If you trust your partner then it's fine. There is no need to double up on contraception. The pill is very reliable.
I was on the pill for 13 years and never used condoms as well. Although as soon as I came off the pill and just started using condoms, I got pregnant!

Do you trust that your partner is not already infected and that he is not going to infect you now or in the future - if you can be 100% positive and answer yes to these questions then you can likely have safe sex without using a condom.
If you are unsure then you will be protected if you use a condom.

Depends if you know each others sexual history and can trust each other. However perfectly possible to be a carry and not even know it in the case of certain STDs.
It is a calculated risk that most of us make and get away with, but remember some people do not get away with it.
If you are in a long term relationship I would say don't because it feels better - closer to each other without but it is your call. After all it's your body.

i don't. but i recently just started on the pill.. and i did have a scare.. but finally got my period. if i dont use condoms, then i make my boyfriend be extra careful. and he know's too. being 16 years old - im too young to get pregnant, and using a condom just doesn't feel the same, you know? but it's always safer to use a condom too.

I would choose to use both forms of birth control, not because I don't trust my husband, but because no single method of birth control is 100% effective.
There are many many unplanned and unfortunately unwanted babies in the world who were conceived while only one birth control method was being used.
Birth control is a very individual decision, for each couple it may be totally different for various reasons.

I think this is a very difficult decision to make, and can only be made by you. I'm in a position where I don't have to worry about it, and I would like to say that when I was younger I always took the safe option, but I'm afraid I didn't.
