I'm afraid I have to side with Tarantino/Rodriguez. Obviously, Spielberg is one of the greatest writer/directors of all time, but Lucas? He's an imaginative producer, but an average director and a bad writer, and that's being kind.
Tarantino and Rodriguez, however, are contemporary geniuses. They have both written and directed some of the most controversial (and controversy is always a good thing in the movie biz), original, influential and well-received films of recent years. Obviously, you don't necessarily have to like their films (I certainly don't like every film either have been involved with) to see that they have a lot of style and originality, and appeal to a wide audience. They both have skills as writers, producers, and directors, and perhaps they're not living legends like Spielberg and Lucas, but it can only be a matter of time.

Well, I'm a free-thinker and I have the ability to SUPPORT BOTH TEAM! Why choose? There's nothing wrong with being a fan of 'Indiana Jones' AND 'Grindhouse'. I'm not limited myself in that way! My mind is open to anything that creatively enhances my being alive on this planet. There's plenty of room for both teams and many more. I would like to see some other collaborations of directors and see what can happen. Although, most directors would clash with each other and we would suffer for it. At least the 2 sets you name are on the same level so they can collaborate well together. I could see Steven Spielberg & Robert Rodriguez working together on something that could be really epic, in terms of staying power. Like they're ET and Spy Kids movies. Also, mix George Lucas' laziness with Quinton's hyperness and I bet that would be amazing! ;-)

DEFINATELY Lucas-Speilberg, they are just so much better, I mean on there own and together they made Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Jurassic Park, American Graffiti, The Color Purple, etc. Ultimatley destroying the puny Rodriguez-Tarantino list of Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, two great films (none of which include Rodriguez b/c he isn't nearly as talanted as the rest).

No contest: Tarantino and Rodriguez. Stephen Spielberg is old school corporate - Tarantino is bursting with creativity. I'd like to see Quentin Tarantino remake E.T. and Schindler's List. Wow! That would be so great! And if Robert Rodriguez remade Star Wars, what would it look like? Boggles the mind.

It depends on the script. I think both teams have great potential. But if a gun was put to my head .... I would say Lucas and Spielberg. Only because I'm a big Star Wars and Indiana Jones fan.

Lucas-Spielberg hands down. Although Rodriguez is amazing Tarantino holds him back with lameness and being too full of himself.
