You are an alcoholic if you are dependent on the vodka and you can't go without it. Have you tried? Try it. If you don't crave it and you just drink it to relax and have a good time, then you are not an alcoholic. I know many people who probably drink that much alcohol on the weekends too. They're not alcoholics, just drunks.
I hope you are not an alcoholic but if you fear you might be, I encourage you to seek help immediately. There is a whole world of problems that alcoholism can bring. Be safe and take care.

Shouldn't the question be, why do I need to drink a litre of vodka a week ?
what are the reasons for this ?
To me someone who hides behind the alcoholic label has no desire to better there lives it's an excuse not to deal with the real issues in there life !!!

7. Do you turn to lower companions and an inferior environment when drinking?
8. Does your drinking make you careless of your family's welfare?

If you have answered YES to any one of the questions, there is a definite warning that you may be an alcoholic.
If you have answered YES to any two, the chances are that you are an alcoholic.
If you have answered YES to three or more, you are definitely an alcoholic.

I would say you're more of a binge drinker. One drink a night during the week doesn't warrant the label of alcoholic... but drinking a whole lot on the weekends is kind of a binge.
You're an actual alcoholic if you can't stop what you're doing!

More of a binge drinker I would say but you maybe have a slight dependency on alcohol if you need to have a drink every night.

only u can answer that. the problem is not labelling urself as an alcoholic, it's wether you're dependent on alcohol, which even if you were doesn't mean u r a bad person. we all need sth in this horrible world to survive but these things don't help us in the end. for me it has ben turning to God & spirituality.
All you need to do is ask God to help you& He will.
If u think u need help, please contact the AA before it's too late.

hard to say. it's not about quantity. if you drink compulsively, or find it hard to abstain, you may have a psychological dependency. if you THINK it's a problem, it MIGHT be. If you're ok with your drinking, happy being yourself, don't worry about it - carry on. ultimately, you are the only one who can answer that question
