An 8 yr.old child that I know has told my daughter that she might be pregnant .Being so young I'm sure she probably has not yet started her cycle.Could she be pregnant?

This actually can be possible. If the girl was about to start her first period, and had ovulated, the egg could be fertilized before she has even technachilly "started" her first period. And I went to grade school with a girl who started her period at the age of 9, so it can happen young. The youngest girl to be pregnant on record was a poor little 5 year old. She was able to have the child, and he was essentially raised as her brother if I remember correctly. makes you want to strangle whoever did that to the poor baby, but to answer your question, its rare but can and does happen. Someone should take the girl to the doctor ASAP to find out for sure and file charges if she actually is pregnant.

I read about a case in south America where a 5 year old child was impregnated. And gave birth. But it is the only case in history. They claim her early maturity was caused by Hormones that were being put into the beef. But that has been outlawed world wide. The odds are one in a billion. But I would ask first does she know how girls get pregnant. Is it from kissing a boy? LOL.

she could have started at an early age. I was in the 3rd grade myself. Also if she happened to have sex the month before she was going to start her mensus she would have ovulated thus creating pregnancy. If she's never ovulated then no pregnancy can occur.
Please though as a parent you have a responsibility to talk to that girls parents. She's prob. just saying those things for attention but by off chance if she is having sex at 8 steps need to be taken for counseling and preventative measures! 8yr olds are absolutly not ready to have sex yet and the legal age of consent in your state is prob. 12 not 8! This is a major issue! Contact her parents or the school asap.

Girls can get pregnant on their very first menstrual cycles; and girls as young as 8 can start their periods. It's rare, but possible. However, if there's any chance than anyone has been having sex with an 8-year-old, the police need to be called...immediately.

Some females ovulate before their menstruation, some even more than once. Menstruation really isn't linked to ovulation. Go ask the women desperately trying to conceive who have regular cycles and no ovulation.
However it is rare to be ovulating or menstruating at 8 years, but no unheard of. The bigger problem is whether she IS having sex (or if she thinks something else causes pregnancy), and of course that she is safe.
BTW the youngest pregnancy on record was at age 4, she was 5 years 7months when she gave birth:

Chances are at this age she is just making things up,most likely to get a ttention..the wrong way yes but none the less.I don't think there is anything to worry about.If she hasn't started yet she couldn't get pregnant.
Maybe if your that worried,you should contact the parents of this child.To make sure nothing is going on in the home that is needing to come out!

Children can become pregnant as young as six. This does not mean that she will carry to term or that the other girl is pregnant. There are young girls though (11 or 12) that have not yet started their cycles and become pregnant. I think it would be good to teach girls to wait until they start their period to have sex if they choose to be sexually active that young.

Well, if she is, there's a man who needs to be castrated (without anaesthetic) and locked away in isolation for life!
I doubt it though, eight year olds make weird things up.
I think they would like to pretend that they are pregnant at a young age- I remember when I went to primary school, one of my friends told me she was pregnant, and told me to feel what she said was the baby- it was her hip bone... I think it is probably down to becoming aware of the fact that pregnancy exists but not knowing how, so it's fun to 'pretend' to be pregnant :)

No. At 8 years old can start their cycle. but not likely.I started at 9.But I would think a 8 year old should be having any of that sexuall stuff. sorry to say if she is i would tell her mom or dad.
