Or can they just do what they want? I feel like they have discriminated against me because of a religious belief. Any attorneys or others out there who have an opinion?

Dierdre, I will be happy to show you in the Bible where this is perfectly in accordance with scripture. Who are you to tell me what goes in my own home and mind? You have some sort of vendetta or something going on that is getting quite ridiculous. Is it so hard to accept that some women are just different than you?

By the way, I never said I wanted to sue. I wouldn't subject myself or my family to that kind of pressure anyway. I just wanted to know if I was right to feel unfairly censored.

NO! Yahoo will routinely delete your posts if they advocate conservative thinking such as calling the criminal invaders from the south ILLEGALS or saying how many billions they steal from our country every year!
Yahoo is very LIBERAL in their thinking.

YA is a free enterprise and can conduct their business anyway they want as long as they do not have a proscribed policy of discrimination. To prove discrimination would be futile, at best. The best you can do is take your business elsewhere if you feel that YA is a prejudiced enterprise.
By the way, I do agree with you that YA does exibit some prejudice. This is just a message blog, anyway, and really only a place to vent one's views and opinions. It's not like anything positive comes from it.

No, it does not extend to Yahoo Answers. When you use this service, you agree to abide by their terms and conditions. Because you have alternatives to this service (such as Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) that do not cost any more or less, you have no additional rights under the agreement as to free speech. Also, there are many types of speech that are not protected, such as true threats. Also, speech may be limited as a custom of the community, just as schools limit the speech of their students, and churches as well.

Organizations such as yahoo who provide a service such as answers do reserve the right to screen or block certain comments or beliefs that may cause disturbances or incriminate yahoo themselves. This works much the same way that many businesses (i.e. restaurants) can enforce certain rules such as profanity, smoking or any other act that may be found offensive to those around you.

No, it does not. Yahoo is a private system, which means they can censor speech. First Amendment rights only deal with how the government, and specifically Congress, deals with those issues.

To the extent that they do not affect one's sensibilities, a religious belief is in the mind of the beholder. Their belief is theirs alone and actions of others should have no impact on the strength and forebearance of their belief.

sure...as long as you follow the official yahoo party line....yahoo is as anti american as nancy pelosi....take this for example...a company ..yahoo...formed under the laws of america, where freedom and liberty are supposed to be a mainstay of our lifestyle....when they want to go into the chinese market, they cave in and allow the chinese government to censor things they dont want the mass of people to see...and not just porn or violence sites...but democratic, business, sites about truth, honesty and others that might give the chinese people the idea that they arent being treated fairly by their gov't.....all for the sake of a dollar....doesnt support for the system that gave you life deserve any recognition..??? yahoo, google and the other major sites that are in china seriously have enough money that they could launch a satelite or two to cover that area of the world and beam their uncensored sites down to china and the other areas that are doing the censoring....but will they...??? they are only interested in keeping the dollar share of their market, not really fostering free expression, thought and debate around the planet...to me, this makes yahoo, google and the rest that have caved a bunch of hypocrites and i dont ever believe a word they say anymore....
