it needs to be a lotion for the face. sometimes using a body lotion can cause your face to break out or something. i usually put on a moisturiser first and let it absorb for 2-3 minutes then i put on a foundation.

It's best to use a face moisturizer
plain lotion may clog your pores giving you pimples. You have to make certain that the bottle says "non cosmogenic" which means it won't clog the pores.
It's also best to use a lotion made for you face specifically, hand lotions are heavier and would cake up your face. Face creams/lotions are pH balanced for the more delicate skin on your face.
You can find some cheap face moisturizers at Target or even Walgreen's. Since you're not worried about wrinkles and the like, you don't have any reason to spend money on the more expensive stuff.
Also, I'd recommend that you use a thinner lotion versus a thicker cream.
Buy small containers or even sample sizes if you can and experiment with what you like best. PS makeup is fun and really quite simple once you figure out what you like, don't get too worried over what kind of stuff to use, you'll figure it out.

sunscreen desgined for your face can be mixed with foundation..and it won't look like a mask. You can even mix foundation with almond oil. This will make you look dewey. It's a good idea for teenagers. Also, they sell tinted moisterizers. Really though, you should wear a good makeup like Bare Minerals to protect your skin. Ask you mother to help you find something suitable. If you aren't sure, you can always see the dermatologist. ProActive makes good foundations too.

Depends on if you mean for your face or body. If you meant for your face, then using plain body lotion isn't a very good idea because its not as gentle as face moisturizer is; meaning it has more chemicals, scents, etc. Also, if you're 13 your face is producing more oil already and you might want to use an oil-free moisturizer. If you break-out a lot then you should also get a hypo-allergetic moisturizer.

Maybe you should just buy a moisturizing foundation rather than potentially ruining what you have....? Try cCinique...they've got really good foundations for $15-$30 and range from dry skin, combo and oil skin...and everything in between :)

If you are trying to make a tinted moisturizer you can only use moisturizer for the face. Do not use lotion on the face it will clog your pores and have the potential to cause break outs. You can also buy a tinted moisturizer at any beauty store around you.

don't do that... if u mix foundation and moisterizer it will look like your wearing this thick mask..
Try any face lotion with SPF 15 (or above) to protect ur skin from the sun.

Use a tinted moisturizer. It gives you sheer color, while moisturizing.
