I've already had my first period and many others, but i've recently lost 3 or 4 pounds and i feel as if it is more difficult for my body to start and i've been holding a lot more water than before.

If your body fat index is too low or too high, it can affect when you will get your first period. Getting your first period any time between ages 10 and 15 is normal. If you are 16 or older and have not gotten your first period yet, talk to your parents about having an appointment scheduled with a GYN or OB/GYN so that the doctor can rule out possible medical conditions that could be delaying your period (and adversely affect your future fertility).

I think you just have to WEIGHT a certain amount. I dont think it depends of body fat. Like if your really tall but skinny you might weigh enough to get it. Thats what I read.

If you are considered anorexic or too thin, it may not happen. But generally, starting your first menstrual period at any given age is genetic.
