Because realistically, only the Corporations in America are truly free. The people aren't.

We have more laws than communist China.
We have the highest rate of incarceration in the western world.
We are 4 times more likely to end up in court due to certain minor violations than the average European.
We have the least amount of free time to spend with friends/family/leisure compared to other industrialized nations only behind Japan.

As far as i am concerned, the word Free should not exist in America anymore. The Federal Government is slowly revoking and limiting our freedoms bit by bit.

America is a country trying to promote Democracy around the world, when America is not a Democracy itself!!!!!

In a Democracy, the majority rules and the minorty is powerless. This is an obviouls advantage for our government abroad. This allows the US to appoint members of the new 'Democratic" government that agree with American views in order for the US to get what it wants.

The USA is, in fact, a Republic. In a Republic then minority has rights and certain powers. This is so obviously proven in the Pledge of Allegiance -- " ... and to the Republic, for which it stands.." Hence the reason the Federal Government is pushing to suppress the Pledge in public. they want us to believe that we are a Democracy... How can we live in a nation that uses the word FREE to refer to anything, whent he people themselves are not free!?!

Look up the North American Union...If it is up to the corp. we wont have any United States any longer because they are wanting to combine Mexico, USA and Canada all into ONE country...then continue to move down to central America and add those countries.

This is all happening under the guise of Security and Prosperity Program or SPP. They have been pushing this since 1973.

OK, you've realized that the people of America are truly NOT free. But you still think the Market is Free?

FREE MARKET (noun) - an economic system in which prices and wages are determined by unrestricted competition between businesses, without government regulation or fear of monopolies.

I don't think so...

no.

corporate subsidies like the tax breaks that oil companies were enjoying as they were making record breaking profits in the 4th quarter of 2006 have nothing to do with free markets.

no-bid contracts has nothing to do with free markets.

bailing out companies like the savings and loans, chrysler or the airlines has nothing to do with free markets.

cronyism has nothing to do with free markets.

i like the idea of capitalism - we should try it sometime.

What would you have it be? Land of the wealth redistribution? There's countries that already do that and its called socialism. . And they don't work. You are invited to move to any of them if you like.
