Somebody just dropped Matt Cain to waivers. I have Dave Bush on my team (who in his first outing pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 runs on 8 hits. Matt Cain in his first outing pitched 6 innings and gave 3 runs on 5 hits. ESPN projects Cain as the 21st best pitcher and Bush as the 33rd. Should I drop Bush and get Cain? Cain is the 2nd pitcher in the giants rotation and bush is the 5th.

My starting Pitchers are Jake Peavey, Carlos Zambrano ,Felix Hernandez, C.C. Sabathia, Cole Hamels, and Dave Bush.

My Relief Pitchers are Chris Ray and Solomon Torres (with a surprising 3 saves).

yea definitly go with cain over bush becuase bush in the second half of last year had an era above 5 and thats gotta wave red flags in your head because that cant be good...cain is going to end up being an ace either this year or next and i beleive he is the one starter and zito is the 2 starter? i could be wrong but here is a list of sleepers that could even be better than bush if someonen else grabs cain
Sp- Jason jennings is going to have a very solid year in houston proving that on his first outing
sp- chuck james who has kept his era this spring around 1 in 5 starts will be stellar in atlanta this year
sp- clay hensley who has a good k rate should do fine in sd if healthy
rp- dan wheeler could close out the year in houston if lidge cant go....
rp- valverde could shock alot of people has kept ball down this yera and could save around 30 games
p- wainwright who also has kept era around 1 this spring.......
p- jeremy sowers who proved he could pitch in cleveland last year shall repeat again thsiy ear
p- westbrook is consistent as they come
and you could even add ian snell, gil meche, or daniel cabrera to that list and keep an eye on adam loewen tonight as well

but i wouldnt fret period...that rotatoin is STACKED you have 5 potential aces on that staff and cain would be a sixth .....you could win with that rotation lol.....

hope i helped
goodluck and have fun bro!!!!!

Matt Cain....a much better option. Love what Bush can do but Cain is 22 years old and has electric stuff. He was a bit inconsistent last season but what 21 year old rookie isnt? He will have an ERA under 4 (last season he had a 6 game stretch where his ERA was 0.21...sick!). He will also get a K per inning and he improved his walks per game as the season went along last year. Cain is just too good to pass up...I really like Bush but he has had a couple years in the league so what you have seen is pretty much what he is capable of (Brewers overall a bit better so the numbers should improve slightly), not so with Cain...he hasnt come close to peaking yet. Plus Cain is the 2nd starter for the Giants while Bush is the 4th starter for the Brewers...Cain gets to throw behind Zito (that fastball sure looks quick after seeing the big benders from Zito), Bush pitches behind Suppan who has a fairly similar game (easier on hitters to pick up his stuff). Put in your claim for Cain before it is too late!

Absolutely pick up Matt Cain. Bush is going to be off all season long. Plus Cain is young and is injury risk free. You already have a great pitching staff so you really have nothing to lose. The Giants just resigned Cain to a contract so he must be good considering the Giants are trying to build a team finally.

Drop Bush and pick up Cain. Simple as that :-) I'd take Cain over Bush any day of the week, against any team.

Listen, Bush will do better. Guess what, all earned runs were in the first inning. That means he had five shut out innings with liike 1 or 2 hits, and he struck out SEVEN. No, Bush is better than Cain by far.

Sign Cain. I'd look for another closer if possible. DON'T COUNT ON TORRES (WON'T HAVE MANY OPP., I'd trade Torres while he's hot.) It's ok to start only one RP, if your starters are good.
