It's a derogatory racial slur with intent to offend. If the intent had been to contribute anything worthwhile he would speak of their skills only and give his opinion - which is what he gets paid for - an opinion.
This is not humor. It's racism hiding behind the mask of humor. And it is also gender discrimination. These are high quality female athletes he was calling 'hos. But the association of Black females and whores is a recognizable stereotype.
I will not miss Don Imus if his show is cancelled. If this is the excuse he gives them to fire him I say: "It's about time!"

Calling someone a hoe is offensive. Of course saying nappy headed hoes is offensive. The "apology" he gave was so fake. I highly doubt you've heard people say that.
