OK, a fellow fantasy leaguer wants me to give him: Fla. SS Hanley Ramirez and in return he will give me: Tor. DH Frank Thomas and Sea. SS Yuniesky Betancourt. Does this sound good or should I pass? Explain "why", so that I can award the best answer. It is a keeper league. Thanks for your help.

No! Hanley will be a 5-category contributor. He's an elite base stealer (a rarity!), he's got good power for a SS, he'll get plenty of runs, and he can hit for .290 as well. Frank Thomas is an injury risk, he's old, and Betancourt will just be a run of the mill player for probably his entire career.

This one's a no-brainer to me...Hanley Ramirez is on track to be better than Jose Reyes.

I wouldn't do it. Betancourt is unproven and clearly not on Hanley's ability level (although he's magic with the glove). There is a reason they call Frank Thomas the big hurt (it happens alot). Also remember that when an owner gives you two for one you have to drop some one. I've heard alot of people say they think Hanley Ramirez is the next coming of Jose Reyes, and since he was a top 5 pick this year I'd say you'd be best off keeping your SS unless you are in dire need of 30-35 HR's and .250 to .265 BA (Thomas). Hope your season goes well for you my friend. I personally picked up Troy Glaus (38HR's last year) to play SS for me.

Do not do this deal. First of all you are giving away someone you would keep for a long time...this kid is already a star and will only get better. He hits for a high ave, shows decent HR power (hard to find a SS with HR abilities...not to mention he isnt pyshically mature so those numbers only get better). is a base stealing machine (again as he learns how to steal properly these numbers get better too).Top SS are incredibly hard to come by, why not enjoy being one of the few owners that has one? Betancourt shouldnt even be on a fantasy roster, he has done nothing to suggest he will be a fantasy star (maybe in time but right now, not even close). Thomas is only a DH (you can fill that spot with anyone) and offers power and RBi only (ave. used to be stellar...now only average), plus he is 38 and he would only be of service to you maybe this year only. This is a brutal trade and in a keeper league that would be an aweful long time to keep kicking yourself if you made this deal!

Pass!!! If it's a keeper league then why would you want to trade for someone old as dirt like Thomas when you could keep a young player that's already proven himself? Same thing with Betancourt but the other way around. He might be good in the long run but you dont know for sure. You've seen how good Ramirez is at such a young age, thus he'll only get better with age, and if it's a keeper league then you'll get better as he will.

No ,no, no. Hanley Ramirez is th 6th best shortstop. Yuniesky Betancourt is, are ready, 24th! Hanley Ramirez is the 38th best player in the league according to ESPN.com, Frank Thomas is the 125th, & Yuniesky Betancourt is the 326th.
That doesnt even make sense.

I wouldn't givee up Hanley for those two players, because Hanley can give you everything. HRS, SB, RBI, and a good AVG. Thomas might not make it the whole year and Betancourt hasn't proven that he can be a great SS like Hanley has.

no ! hanley ramirez is an example version of reyes except for the HR's while frank thomas has never hit 40 or more HR's in his career and Betancourt is incosistent

keep hanley,, if u make this trade, u still would have to give up a 2nd player to free agency so u wont go over the limit of players, unless u are already under the limit. Hanley gets steals

No. Hanley Ramirez is going to be one of the next great shortstops. He has power and speed and could win an MVP in a few years, i think.

I'd except the trade because Frank Thomas is set up to have another MVP season as long as he stays healthy. He is also a nice player to have because he's a utility lock. So you won't have to put him at a position like 1st base if you already have a great first baseman. I have him in my fantasy league and I predict another great year for him.
