I would suggest three places - 1. the Poconos in PA, 2. the Outer Banks in NC, or 3. Denver, Colorado.
1. The Poconos are a beautiful place to visit. It's best to go in the summer because it has a lot of places to tube, kayak, raft, and some of the best water parks around. It is also inexpensive.
2. The Outer Banks is a great place to go no matter what you are looking for in a vacation. Relaxing - beaches, pools, spas, tours of some great lighthouses, and more. Adventure is you type - surfing, water parks, windsurfing, hang gliding, horseback riding, air tours, and more. If you have a family there is even more to do. You can do the above, or go to the many aquariums, sand dunes, museums, theaters, plus many specials for families. The best time to go is in September because there is less people.
3. Denver is a great place for anyone who likes to shop, relax, sports, or water parks. Also, it has great rates. The best time to go is in the summer.

not sure where you live but there is a great clothing optional (but most choose the freedom we were born with) beach in NJ called Sandy Hook (Gunnison Beach). It's near Highlands NJ. It is wonderful,& very family friendly too. There is a great Bed & Breakfast not far from there called SeaScape Manor. It is a very relaxing and beautiful place to stay with great breakfasts everyday too. Look into it both places mentioned,they're really great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SPAIN! We saw Barcelona, Cordoba (not all that), and Sevilla. Only had a few hours in Madrid, but people say it's a lot like NYC anyway.
