Get a hot glue gun and drizzle some all over the egg before dipping in the dye. Then peel off the glue after and you get a neat design. Repeat with other colors if you wish.

I have not done any coloring yet, and probably will not. I'm a bit old for that sort of thing. But I remember we used a white crayon to "paint" a message, or design, on the eggs. It's not new, sorry. We would use the crayon to write stuff, then dip the egg in a light color. Then we would take the egg, wipe off the wax, then dip it in something darker. The dark color would take where the wax was since the other color did not get to the shell. I thought it was cool, but that was back in the 60's! Have a Happy Easter! Ciao.

Sadly all my kids are too old to color eggs anymore.

I still like to do the Russian Style eggs... careful waxing and dying in geometric designs... two each year.
