Ask her to wear them just for you for your special times together. Then when she does, tell her how they make you feel and how sexy you think they are on HER. They are not really comfortable but I am sure if you give her incentive, that she will be happy to comply with your request.

You can't force her to do anything. Maybe buy her a sexy underwear set with bra and thongs. But does it really matter? Isn;t wats important her beauty or some tiny piece of material that is designed to give her a wedgy?
There are normal briefs that look very sexy, black or red and lacy.
And I agree too that if you want her to wear thongs you need to agree on something she wants in return :P

See if you can get her to wear them in private, just for you. Be sure to properly show appreciation.
If she just will not go for it, then there is probably an emotional reason she won't do it. She may, deep down, think they are slutty, or unladylike. Don't be down on your wife for that. Not every woman has the ability to be (what she thinks is) sleazy for you, in the bedroom, and (again, in her opinion) a 'real lady' the rest of the time.
Funny thing about us men, we often push our women to be more risque, a little more 'dirty,' and then complain when they start to act that way outside our bedroom.
You cannot have every woman in one body, just like she cannot have every man in you.

Tell her how you feel about them. Not all women find them comfy for normal day to day wear. But I think that if she knows you find them sexy she would be happy to wear them for you, even if it was just as a prelude to sex. Buy her a nice pair as a romantic gesture.

she will if she wants to. some girls don't like them at all. if she isn't into thongs, maybe she'd dig wearing boy shorts, which look just as hot.
or just buy her some stuff and tell how sexy she'd look in them.

I asked my ex to wear them, and she kindly explained that she hated the feeling of having a strip of material between her cheeks.
Either women like them, or they don't. If your wife has expressed her desire NOT to wear them, you're kinda screwed.
Take her to a lingerie store and have her pick out what type of panties she'd wear for special occasions. Call it a compromise of sorts.
