This suggestion is potentially dangerous and will simply switch your body in to starvation mode, where only small amounts of weight loss occur. The body also develops negative nitrogen balance and begins to break down muscle, INCLUDING cardiac muscle!
As far as weight loss is concerned I have to admit I have a 'stock' answer for this question, since if you look it appears 20-30 times every day!!!
Type 'guaranteed weight loss' into google, you will find 1 1/2 million sites!
Look around you if ANY of these things worked would we be getting so overweight?
We are what we eat, but we are at least as much what we don't do. Calorie intakes in 1900 and 1950 were higher than they are now, we just don't use them up!
Eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruit and veg.
Take a healthy amount of exercise 30-40 minutes of vigorous exercise per day 4-5 days a week. I hate to think what percentage of the UK population does that 2%? 5%?
I have seen hundreds of questions with this same pattern :- I am fat, tell me where on line I can get this super diet or herbal/dangerous/illegal drug that I hear will fix it for me in 10 minutes without the need for me to get off the couch!
No fixes pal , less in more out, its the only way.

Do a Google search for "juice fasting" and "water fasting" and read the various sites that come up.
I have done many 3-5 day juice fasts and in October 2006 successfully did a 30-day juice fast. I was tired on days 4-6 but aside from that felt great! Lots of energy steadily throughout the day, clear thinking, great sleep and needed less sleep, on and on.
Today I actually began what I hope will be a 10-day water fast.
Do the proper reading, really get in touch with yourself and if you feel called to do a fast then I wish you the best.
Many people don't consider that almost one-third of their daily energy is spent digesting foods - usually improperly combined foods (read Fit For Life). If that energy could be spent towards other things like detoxing the body, they would be amazed at what happens.
Many people who jump into a fast without prepping by eating raw and/or doing a juice fast before hand will be overwhelmed when their body begins to detox. For however long you've been alive, your body has been absorbing toxins. When people first detox it's usually very physically hard with sinuses draining, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.
For me, this happened the first time I detoxed and I still recall about a full day where I was just horrifically sick. But I didn't eat and let my body do it's job of detoxing. Since then, whenever I've decided to fast, I've not had that situation repeat.
If you've not tried raw or juicing, I suggest www.RawFoodTalk.com as a great resource.

Tried water fasting but it was too difficult cause of the dizziness I felt. Now I fast with a juice so that I can still get some vitamins and nutrients that are essential. Also, I only do it for 2 days at a time. It gives your digestive system a much needed break. Check out this short article on fasting to cleanse

yes, I have done water fasting. I tried everything when I was first studying natural medicine. I fasted on water for 30 days. It damn near killed me. I would not recommend anyone do that. A one day water fast can be beneficial to flush the body by drinking a great deal of water. Make sure you are in good health and not diabetic or hypoglycemic.
If you have any further questions please let me know,

on it right now,
im basically anorexic though
uhm
im really dizzy
and cold, cuz i dink cold water to get negative calories
so just dizzy and tired and hungry
but im on the second day and 2 pounds lighter
woo hoo
the good thing is that you know it's not just water weight you're losing becuse DER you're dinking water
so the weight loss is added to possible water retaination
which isn't bad.
you should try it.
oh and make sure you have an access to the bathroom
alot.haha.
